The Canberra International Walking Weekend is a non-competitive event open to everyone.
The walking weekend is usually held late March/early April each year.
The next walk will be held on 2 - 3 April 2011. This will be our 20th walk, so please come along and help us celebrate this significant milestone!
Walkers can choose a 10, 20 or 30 kilometre course each day for one or both days of the weekend. A marathon course (42.2 kilometres) is also offered on the Saturday.
There is also a guided 5 km walk designed for the over 75s and under 8s, plus their walking companions.
The walk is a member event of the IML Walking Association (IML) and also sanctioned by the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV).
Important note to IML Walkers: Australia to Remain an IML Member!
Canberra Two Day Walk Club members have voted for the Canberra Walk to remain a member of the IML Walking Association.

The Canberra International Walking Weekend is a not-for profit event and a proportion of all entry fees is donated to various community organisations.
A number of self guided year round walks are also available in picturesque locations around Australia (Canberra, Sydney, Manly, Melbourne, Bairnsdale & Lakes Entrance). Route information and maps are available here.
World Walking Day
Each year in May, Australia celebrates World Walking Day in Canberra. The next walk will be held on Saturday May 8th, 2010. If you participate in the IVV award program don't forget to bring your IVV record book/s to get your free stamp.
Canberra Two Day Walk will celebrate World Walking Day with IVV walking clubs around the world on Saturday 8 May with a 10 km walk in Isaacs, starting at the Isaacs shops. Start time TBA.
Please bring your drink as there will be no drink stations along the way. Also bring sundscreen and hat.
Cost will be a $2 donation per walker to Lions Club of Canberra Valley . The IVV stamp for this walk is free.
IVV event and distance cards ($10 each) will be available for purchase at the finish.
